Lioaru
Time Domain
Bound to Tani
A land where time doesn't move cleanly. Things don't fully pass.

At a Glance

Etymology
Icelandic líð (passage of time, slipping away) → drifted to Lioaru
Position
Southwest Talan, south of Sumendar, west of Brauogi and Ezkudon, coastal on Hafra to the south
Terrain
Desert dominant with orange sand dunes throughout. A green river valley cuts through as an oasis of life. The dark, shadowy Lost Kingdom occupies the southern coastal area. Lost Isle sits offshore. Temporal anomalies throughout: moments that repeat, ruins newer than they should be.

Tani: domain of Time
Peoples
Three dominant ancestries are anchored here, standing in the three tenses of the goddess: Ghoran (the ones who hold what was; the Guardians of Time), Azarketi (the ones who answer it now; Valreka's water-bearers), and Nagaji (the ones who become what's next; shed, and whole again — heartland Hareaveldi, the serpent-kingdom of the desert).
Magitrain
Lines reach the River Duchies and Hareaveldi from the wider southern network; the desert interior is served by caravan, the mobile capital Valreka is served by nothing scheduled, and the Lost Kingdom has no rail and never will: the Blackened Lands' chaos-magic scrambles Arcanotech precision, and no consortium would build there anyway.

Modern English; folk name the black spot on the map
Ruined southern-coast territory. Fell during the Week of Crimson Rain: this is where Tani was struck down, and the divine retaliation that followed wounded the land so deeply it has never healed. Modern features: blackened soil, time-warped strata (moments repeat, ruins read newer than they should), ambient necromantic resonance, periodic fleshwarp incidents in survivors and trespassers, concentrations of restless dead. Origin of the natural-born Fleshwarp and Skeleton ancestries: both arise from the cursed ground itself, not from any current faction's work. No kingdom claims it; the Adventurers' Guild posts a perpetual standing warning. Tani-mourning pilgrims, necromancers, and ascension-cultists are the most common visitors.
