The World
Skies, seas, and the great continent

Tyrnarra is a world adrift in an endless ocean, its lands ringed by the still, white expanse of the Cloud Sea. Above it, the heavens turn with the slow rhythm of three celestial bodies (the golden sun Solyra, and two moons, Veyru and Unaru), each day and night sinking into, and rising from, the Cloud Sea's horizon.

The Cloud Sea
An infinite, unbroken plain of luminous white vapor. Never shifts with wind, tide, or season. The vapor will not support weight: ordinary hulls sink fast and the crew sinks with them; a swimmer who falls in drowns the same way they would in deep water. Only cloudships can cross it.
The Celestial Descent
All three bodies rise and set from the Cloud Sea, vanishing into its depths each cycle and returning from the opposite horizon, as if passing into another realm beneath.
The Continent of Talan
The great landmass at the heart of the known world. Home to the 13 bound gods of the Material Plane and the kingdoms, city-states, and contested territories shaped by their domains.
Cloudships
Vessels specially built to traverse the Cloud Sea. Rare, expensive, and strategically invaluable. The difference between a regional power and a world power.
The Wellspring
Source of all things

The Wellspring is not merely a source. It is the first place. It is its own plane of existence, from which all other planes spring forth: material, spiritual, and elemental alike.

Every living thing, every plane, and even the stars themselves trace their origin to the Wellspring. In time, all that exists will return to it, dissolving back into the primal flow from which it came. Tyrnarra is the totality of what springs from this Wellspring: world, planes, souls, gods, every being and place Wellspring-born. Beyond it lie other realities (separate cosmologies, not Wellspring-fed, not subject to its laws), but mortals here have no practical contact with them.

The Planar Structure
Three layers, nine planes

All of reality is arranged into three great layers, each containing three primary planes. The layers flow in an eternal cycle, as the Wellspring sends out creation and calls it home.

Layer I · Prelife
Origin of all things
Veil: The Aurora Veil (Veil of Genesis)

A dawn-hued ocean of living light where unborn worlds drift like clouds. Souls pass through here as pure potential, without form or memory.

  • I
    Wellspring
The first place and final destination. All souls, matter, and magic are born from its infinite depth and will one day return.
  • II
    Energy Plane
An endless sea of raw positive and negative energy, surging and clashing in eternal balance.
  • III
    Elemental Plane
A boundless expanse of unmixed fire, water, wind, and earth. The primal matter from which worlds are shaped.
Layer II · Life
Where creation takes form
Veil: The Ethereal Plane (Invocation of Gods' Law)

A shimmering membrane around the Life Layer. A place where divine will and cosmic law shape mortal reality, and where the 13 bound gods operate under the Gods' Law.

  • I
    Feyworld
The plane of Chaos. Vibrant, shifting, and unpredictable.
  • II
    Material Plane
The stable physical realm where mortal civilizations rise and fall. Home of Tyrnarra, Talan, and the 13 bound gods.
  • III
    Shadowplane
The plane of Order. Constant, unchanging, and eternal in structure.
Layer III · Postlife
Destination of souls after death
Veil: The Duskmire (Shroud of Return)

A twilight sea where the stars above are the lights of distant souls. Those destined to return to the Wellspring shed their memories here.

  • I
    Elysium
The plane of Good. Radiant realms ruled by benevolent gods, each in their own kingdom.
  • II
    Diyu
The plane of Balance and Judgment. Home to neutral gods and to Dauria, the City of the Dead.
  • III
    Abyss
The plane of Evil. A vast, nightmarish domain where gods of malice, devils, and demons rule.
The Nature of the Soul
Three layers within one being

Every living being contains essence from all three layers. What separates one soul from another is which layer's energy burns brightest within them.

The 13 Bound Gods
The compact of the Material Plane

Thirteen Grand Gods reside on the Material Plane, bound by the Gods' Law to operate within its rules. Unlike gods of Layer 1 or Layer 3, these gods walk among mortals, but are constrained by the Ethereal Veil's divine compact. Their domains define the regions of Talan itself. For each god's nature, depiction, and clergy (and for what only the gods themselves know), see the pantheon page.
